Control any Windows computer. Even the login screen.

NWRemoto connects two computers directly, with end-to-end encryption. You see the lock screen, type the password and send Ctrl+Alt+Del as if you were sitting in front of the machine. Free, with no license and no limit on computers.

Free. Requires 64-bit Windows; a 32-bit version is not available yet.

Professional support tools, at no cost

Everything you need to support a computer, even when it is locked. No license and no paid plan.

Lock screen, login and UAC

A Windows service installed with the program lets you see and control the login screen and administrator permission prompts. You can unlock the computer with nobody on the other side.

Remote Ctrl+Alt+Del

Send the Windows security key combination to the remote machine and reach the options to lock, switch user or open Task Manager.

End-to-end encryption

The connection goes directly between the two computers (P2P) and is encrypted. The access password never travels over the network: NWRemoto only proves it knows it.

Computers without a monitor

Servers and machines with no screen attached get a virtual monitor, so there is always a desktop to control.

Automatic local network

On the same network, the computer shows up as Online (LAN) and the connection goes straight to its local IP, without going through the internet.

Multiple monitors

Switch between the remote computer's monitors or see all of them at once, with the mouse landing on the right screen.

Everyday tools

What you use in every support session, at no cost.

My Computers

Keep your computers in groups and see which ones are online, whether they are on the local network and which NWRemoto version each one runs. Double-click to connect.

Easy Access and Account Access

Connect with an ID and password, or link computers to your account: then only you, signed in, can control them.

View only

Watch another computer's screen without touching anything: mouse and keyboard stay off, and the person on the other side keeps working as usual.

File manager

Send and receive files with a task queue, cancellation and an extension filter. Every received file is checked before it is released, so it never arrives corrupted.

Screenshots and screen recording

Take a screenshot or record a video of the session in one click. Everything is saved on your computer, organized by date.

Full screen

Use the remote computer in full screen. The buttons sit in a discreet bar at the top that shows up when you hover over it.

Remote updates

Update NWRemoto on a computer you manage straight from the list, with nobody needed on the other side.

Two-way clipboard

Copy on one side and paste on the other, in either direction.

Chat and video calls

Talk by text or video with the person on the other side during support.

How to connect

Three steps, from download to your first session.

  1. Install on both computers

Download NWRemoto and install it on the computer you will control from and on the one you will access.

  2. Wait for the connection

On the computer to be accessed, choose to wait for a connection. It shows a 12-digit ID and a password.

  3. Connect

On the other computer, enter the ID and password. If you'll use it often, save it to My Computers.

Frequently asked questions

Is NWRemoto really free?

Yes. There is no license, no paid plan and no limit on computers. The project is supported by donations from people who choose to help.

Can I access a computer that is on the lock screen?

Yes. The installer adds a Windows service that lets you see the login screen, type the password and send Ctrl+Alt+Del. This works on computers that have NWRemoto installed and that you have access to.

Is the connection secure?

Yes. The connection goes directly between the computers and is end-to-end encrypted. The password is never sent over the network. With Account Access, besides the password, only the owner of the account that registered the computer can control it.

What is the difference between Easy Access and Account Access?

With Easy Access, anyone with the ID and password can connect, as in a one-off support session. With Account Access, the computer is linked to your account and only you, signed in, can control it.

Does it work on a local network?

Yes. When both computers are on the same network, NWRemoto shows the machine as Online (LAN) and connects straight to its local IP.

Can I access a computer without a monitor?

Yes. On servers and machines with no screen, NWRemoto creates a virtual monitor so there is a desktop to control.

Can I watch the screen without touching anything?

Yes. In My Computers, choose View before connecting. You can follow the screen, take screenshots or record, but no clicks or keystrokes are sent.

How do I update NWRemoto on the computers I manage?

My Computers shows the version of each computer. When a computer is online, you can force an update and the latest version is installed remotely, with nobody needed on the other side.

Which operating systems does it support?

64-bit Windows, on both sides of the connection. A version for 32-bit Windows is not available yet.

Ready for your first session?
